Visit Visa Types:

Tourist Visit Visa

The Tourist Visit Visa is suitable for travellers visiting Sri Lanka for:

  • Holidays and sightseeing
  • Leisure and relaxation
  • Excursions
  • Visiting friends and relatives
  • Short-term tourism

Business Visit Visa

The Business Visit Visa is intended for foreign nationals travelling to Sri Lanka for short-term business purposes. Group visa applications are also available through the official ETA website.


How to Apply?

To obtain a 30-day visit visa before travelling:

  • Apply online through the official ETA website: www.eta.gov.lk
  • Complete the online application and pay the applicable visa fee.
  • Visa fees vary depending on your nationality and visa type. Please refer to the official website for the latest fee information.
  • Once your application is approved, download or print your ETA confirmation.
  • You can check your application status online using your reference number.
  • Visa applications may also be submitted through a Sri Lankan Embassy or High Commission in your country, where applicable.
  • Visa on Arrival may be available for eligible nationalities. Please check the official ETA website before you travel.

Need to Stay Longer?

If you wish to extend your stay, a 30-day Tourist Visit Visa may be extended twice, subject to approval by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
